Pomegranate is The Best Fruit for Health - Health Care Tips
Pomegranate is recognized as an invaluable gift of nature
because of its nutritional and medical properties, the fruit is also called
'fruit of paradise'. Not only that, the pomegranate also has the honor of being
the emperor's fruit in all its fruits. This is because the pomegranate contains
plant compounds that are not found in other common fruits.
Various investigations on the nutritional properties of this
oldest fruit have proven that the use of pomegranate has wonderful benefits for
the human body, which protects it from various diseases.
November, the Month of Pomegranate
Worldwide month is celebrated as November pomegranate month.
In ancient Egypt, pomegranate has been used as a cure for various types of
infections, however new information about the nutritional value of pomegranate
is being learned in each period. Today, science recognizes that pomegranate is
more than just a fruit, because it contains more vitamin C, dietary fiber,
fol-ate and other nutrients than normal fruits.
Nutritional Importance
The outer skin of the pomegranate is hard and unable to eat,
while there are hundreds of edible seeds inside it. These seeds are called
aril, which are not only juicy and sweet, but also nutritious. There are three
types of pomegranates (lions, lobster and sour sweet) in terms of taste, rich
in medicine and nutrients. The nutrients found in a cup of pomegranate grains
(174 grams) include fiber 7 grams, protein 3 grams, vitamin C 30 percent, vitamin
36 percent, fol-ate 16 percent and potassium 12 percent.
Pomegranate is recognized as a source of vitamins and energy
because it is rich in calcium, potassium, phosphorus, iron, hydrochloric acid, photo-chemical,
antioxidants, poly-phones, low calories, vitamin A, B, C and bio-active
compounds. It is also found in adequate quantities of sugar.
Pomegranates have unique plant compounds and medicinal
properties, which make them wonderful health benefits.
Punicalagin: The most potent antioxidant, Punicalagin, is
found in pomegranate and its spores. This nutrient makes pomegranates three
times more potent than green tea.
Punic acid: Punic acid found in pomegranate seeds, is one
of the most important fatty acids recognized, which enhances the biological
effects of the body.
Resistance Against Inflammation
Chronic inflammation is the cause and predictor of many
diseases. These diseases include cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes type
two, obesity and Alzheimer's.
Although pomegranate is rich in anti-inflammatory
properties, the mass of pony collagen is resistant to inflammation present in
the body. During one study, diabetes patients were given regular 250 ml
pomegranate juice on a daily basis at 12 weeks; interleukin levels were reduced
by 30 to 32 percent in diabetic patients after a fixed time period.
Prostate Cancer
Prostate cancer (i.e., bladder cancer) is a common disease
in men. This type of cancer grows slowly, resulting in the patient not
experiencing symptoms in the early stages (this condition lasts for years).
However, with growth, the cancer significantly hinders the functioning of the
human body.
Laboratory studies show that pomegranate juice slows down
the production of prostate cancer cells. It even reduces the risk of death by
becoming a catalyst for apoptosis. According to one study, 8 ounces of
pomegranate juice per day keeps PSA level (PSA) stable.
Useful Against Breast Cancer
Breast cancer is a common disease in women. The results of
one study suggest that the use of pomegranate juice helps to eliminate breast
cancer cells, while healthy cells remain in good shape during the process. On
the other hand, experts say pomegranates also prevent breast cancer cells from
being born.
Decrease in Blood Pressure
Hypertension is considered one of the main causes of heart
attack and stroke. In one study, 5 ounces (150) ml of pomegranate juice was
given to hypertension patients daily, resulting in a significant decrease in
patients' blood pressure levels.
According to clinicians, photo-chemical in pomegranate reduce
cholesterol and blood pressure, while drinking an ounce of fresh pomegranate
daily removes obstacles to your carotid artery, leading to strokes and other
cardiovascular diseases.
Memory Improvements
Investigative studies have provided some evidence that
pomegranate juice is also helpful in improving memory. One study included those
who had recently undergone surgery, reducing memory loss in patients using
pomegranate juice on a daily basis.
Another study included people who were actually suffering
from memory impairment. These individuals were regularly fed 8 ounces of
pomegranate, as a result both patients' oral and visual memory improved.
